Q. How long have you been working at MarketMakers?
I started working at MarketMakers in August 2018, so have been here around 10 months now.
Q. What did you do before MarketMakers?
I worked for Optamor as a Training Partnership Manager which was more of an Account Manager based role.
Q. What made you want a job at MarketMakers?
I wanted to move back into the training delivery and support side of Learning & Development and MarketMakers enabled me to do this.
Q. What position did you start in at MarketMakers, and what positions did you progress into?
So I came straight into the Business as a Learning & Development Manager Tier 1 and I am now working towards earning my Tier 2 promotion.
Q. Do you think progressing has been easy, have you been given enough opportunities?
Yes I think there is definitely enough opportunities and a really good support network. Part of my progression within my role is completing my CIPD so this also adds another dimension to my personal and professional progression.
Q. Talk to me about the support that was on offer- have you completed any programmes through The Business School?

Q. What do you like the most about working at MarketMakers?

Q. How are you planning to progress next, are you currently involved in any programmes?
Ultimately my current goal is to progress to Learning & Development Manager Tier 2 and I am working towards that by carrying out my CIPD which is my Certificate in Professional Development. This consists of 6 modules around L&D including the structure, roles and responsibilities involved, as well as different training methodologies and how to measure training effectiveness in businesses.
Q. Are you offered support in your role, who is your manager what do they do for you?
Steve Cass is my Line Manager and he is really supportive. He is always around for me to bounce ideas off and to guide me in the right direction.
Q. Do you use your progression to help inspire other members of staff?
In my role I am helping other members of staff with their progression on a daily basis. I always say to them, anything is possible you just need a goal of where you want to get to.
Q. Do you have any personal goals that MarketMakers has helped you to achieve or any that you are currently working towards?
Having been here nearly a year now, I am really keen to identify new ways to provide more specific training and new induction programmes to different campaigns that we are working on.
