Exciting news from Cameroon
A great start to our Monday morning as we receive an update from Marianne at Building Schools for Africa on the work being carried out in Bani Boloum, Cameroon. Thank you to the team in Cameroon for the incredible work they continue to do, and thank you to the MarketMaker’s team for their fundraising activity that has helped make these projects possible!
“Hello all,
We are almost at the end of our visit here and just wanted to update you a bit … but in brief because connectivity is a bit erratic.
We haven’t been able to go to the NW again this year so have not been able to see the Health Centre built with Lead Forensics’ fundraising last year – but it is complete and will be handed over to the community at Ntaache before Christmas. It is basically the same (though a bit bigger)as the one in Bani Baloum (Market Makers) so thought you might all like to see the attached short clip.
The impact on the community is huge already. The comparison between the maternity facilities before and after couldn’t be more stark. There are so many IDPs moving to this area and being warmly welcomed. The same is true in Ntaache – in fact in every village we have visited. The situation of the IDPs is ghastly. We visited a number of families who have lost everything and are living in abject squalor but are so thankful to get their children away from the fighting. They are SO grateful for any help they receive.
Please share this thank you message amongst all your staff. SHUMAS is working miracles out here – and it’s because of your fundraising efforts that these poor people have hope for a brighter future.
I’ll be in touch again soon with more info and pix.
Best wishes and thanks once again.
Marianne”
