Market Makers - Marketing Maestros are
on Cloud Nine
Incredible growth of 600 per
cent looms for talented team of promoters.
A marketing company is heading for catastrophic
heights with a potential for 600 per cent
growth this year. Market Makers, which
set up in October 2003 with just one employee,
has already seen rapid revenue growth
in the first quarter of this year -
about 200 per cent. But if expansion continues
at its current pace, managing director
Paul Thomas, 23, thinks he will be looking
at a £1m turnover by the year's
end.
It's not growth he is shy about
shouting about. It is also growth that
has mostly been due to word of mouth.
He said; "We want to be seen as
the market leader and we want to be the
best in the UK. It's also proof
for our clients - look at the growth
we will have this year!" And he
added; "We want to grow the company
as best we can but the main thing is to
get the best possible deal for our clients."
Market Makers, based at the Portsmouth
Technopole, Kingston Crescent, offers
a full-range marketing experience for
other firms, form telemarketing, direct
marketing, appointment leads and the internet.
It has 40 clients, local and national,
on its books, most of whom have seen growth
since the company was brought in. Its
clients range from one-man bands to top-end
clients like Jaguar. The company describes
its brief as getting sales for other firms,
and is available 24/7 for its clients.
Some of this may involve business advice
if it feels the client is trying to concentrate
on the wrong thing. Mr. Thomas said the
growth has been because of the quality
of the staff he has headhunted into the
firm. The head counts stands at 21. Mr.
Thomas, of Southsea, said: "Growth
has really been this year. We've
really pushed the staff numbers up. We
always go for the highest quality staff
we can get and everyone who works for
us has to be top-end."
